The Nokia Lumia 820 for AT&T is now receiving the the Windows Phone 8.1 update with Lumia Cyan alongside the Nokia Lumia 920. Both of them were among the first Windows Phone 8 devices offered on the AT&T network and its nice to see them being treated to the latest version of Microsoft's mobile platform.

Nokia Lumia 820 receives Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Cyan
We recently reported that the Nokia Lumia 820 was receiving the Windows Phone 8.1 update with Lumia Cyan in the UK, Ireland and the EU. Now it looks like the update is officially being rolled out to various regions globally. The Nokia Lumia 525 is also receiving the updates globally.

Nokia Lumia Black Update now rolling out for the AT&T Lumia 920 and Lumia 820
The Nokia Lumia Black software update is now rolling out for the Nokia Lumia 920 and the Nokia Lumia 820 on the AT&T network. The update which includes Microsoft's Windows Phone Update 3 (GDR3) first started rolling out for the Nokia Lumia 1020 and the Nokia Lumia 925 and has been reaching other Lumia handsets since.

Nokia Amber update changelog and availability
The Nokia Amber update has started rolling out globally to Windows Phone 8 devices alongside Microsoft's own GDR2 improvements. The update is being pushed out in waves to the Nokia Lumia 520, Nokia Lumia 521, Nokia Lumia 620, Nokia Lumia 720, Nokia Lumia 810, Nokia Lumia 820, Nokia Lumia 822, Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 928.
The first waves which are being delivered over-the-air (OTA) have already started appearing on Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 handsets around the world, with the Lumia 521, Lumia 810 and Lumia 928 in the US also partaking in the latest Windows Phone software.

Unofficial Amber ROM available for Lumia 920 and Lumia 820
While users are waiting for the Windows Phone Amber update to arrive on their devices, impatient Nokia
Lumia 920 and Nokia
Lumia 820 users could consider installing an unofficial ROM of the update which has leaked out for both devices. Keep in mind however that since this ROM is unofficial, you wont be eligible for official updates while you have this installed. Additionally you will have to wipe all your data if you choose to install this ROM, so proceed with caution.

The Nokia Lumia 820 for AT&T is now receiving the 1232.5962.1314.0001 software update which brings improved automatic display brightness adjustment, Fix for screen blanking during a call, Fix for connectivity issues in certain network conditions and a couple performance and stability improvements.
You can check for the update availability by heading to Settings > phone update on your device and click Check for Updates. If the update is available you can install it on your device OTA (over-the-air)

Vodafone UK has announced the the Nokia Lumia 920, Nokia Lumia 820 and the Nokia Lumia 620 will be available on its network starting February 6th. The carrier has announced that they have concluded their tests on the devices and that they are now ready for public consumption.

Nokia has released the PR1.1 software update to the Nokia Lumia 920 and the Nokia Lumia 820 for users in the US and Canada. The update (1232.5951.1249.0001) brings improved performance, imaging capabilities and battery management to the devices. The Nokia Lumia 820 features a 4.3 inch touch display, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video capture, a secondary camera for video calls, NFC, wireless charging and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor.
The Lumia 820 is available in the U.S. through AT&T for $50 with a two year contract and is available in an array of colors. The polycarbonate build quality is solid and it feels good in your hand. The end user experience is also quite pleasant with Windows Phone and Nokia exclusive apps like Nokia Maps, Drive and City Lens.
However the camera and call quality aren't the best in the market, which is disappointing from a Nokia device. Check out the following video review of the Lumia 820 for a hands on look of the device.
