The Nokia Lumia 800 is essentially the first Windows Phone device from Nokia. Now we have new Windows Phone 8 devices in the market, and if you are considering upgrading to the newer Nokia Lumia 820, you may want to check out the following speed comparison between the Lumia 800 and the Lumia 820 to help you decide.
Besides the larger 4.3 inch display, the Lumia 820 has microSD storage expansion, an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video capture, a secondary camera for video calls and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM.
Meanwhile the Lumia 800 has a 3.7 inch display, 16GB of internal storage an 8 megapixel camera that can only capture video at 720p and is powered by a 1.4 GHz processor with 512 MB of RAM.
The Lumia 800 actually booted up faster than the Lumia 820 which was quite a surprise. The next test compares opening stock apps and both devices fair quite evenly. This shows that even though the Lumia 820 is significantly more powerful than the Lumia 800, the Windows Phone 8 OS requires much more resources to operate. The third test compares IE 10 on the Lumia 820 with IE9 on the Lumia 800. Here the Lumia 820 seems to have an edge. The fourth test is for third party apps, and the Lumia 820 wins this round.
