Mozilla releases Fennec browser for testers

Android and Maemo users can download and test the latest version of Fennec, which is the code-name for the Firefox test builds. Firefox (Fennec) is the first browser to give mobile users a near desktop experience by bringing add-ons to the mobile platform much like it's desktop counterpart. The latest version brings a rich set of features from the previous release, making it easier to bring the Firefox experience with you everywhere you go.

The Firefox Sync feature which allows desktop content from your bookmarks, tabs and browsing history to be easily synced across your computers is now integrated into this version of Fennec, allowing users to stay seamlessly integrated with their computers.

With performance and responsiveness being the main focus of this release, two technologies known as 'Electrolysis' and 'Layers' have been implemented. Electrolysis will focus on the performance of the browser in CPU heavy actions like java scripts, and Layers will be implemented in the upcoming beta versions and will improve the display of graphics and it's performance of a web page.

You can download the latest Alpha build of Fennec from here.

This version of Fennec is built on the same technology as Firefox 4, and brings some of the features of the desktop platform to the mobile users. Check out some of the key features of this release of Fennec below:
