Microsoft has finally revealed the Windows Phone Update 3 which brings long awaited support for 1080p displays, quad-core processors and several other improvements and enhancements. Microsoft hopes to meet three main goals with the Windows Phone Update 3: “Enable a new generation of incredible Windows Phone 8 devices, enhance the platform with new capabilities for current users and partners, and improve overall quality.”
The Windows Phone Update 3 is in fact the General Distribution Release (GDR) 3 update we have been heard several rumors about. Luckily we now have a clear idea what to expect in terms of features on the next generation of Windows Phones.

Windows Phone 8 GDR3 (alleged) feature list leaked
Some new information on the new features which will be available with Windows Phone GDR3 has been leaked out, and it gives us some insight on what we can expect from the next big version of Windows.
The GDR3 update will be introduced alongside a new lineup of Windows Phone 8 devices sometime in September and with the GDR2 update just around the corner, we see Microsoft is strongly focused on Windows Phone. With Nokia presumably having plans to launch a new large screen device later this year, the pressure is on Microsoft to ready their software to match the needs of their partners.

Nokia Lumia 1020 - Video Review
The Nokia Lumia 1020 is an all round smartphone, but it has been built primarily with one thing in mind - Photography. Following in the footsteps of the Nokia 808 PureView, the Lumia 1020 features a massive 41 megapixel camera, which is undoubtedly the best smartphone camera in the market. Nokia has added their own custom camera app to the lackluster offering on Windows Phone 8 to make the Lumia 1020 an easy replacement of your regular point and shoot, especially when combined with the Nokia Camera grip.
Despite being a device that should easily fly out of the shelves, its exclusivity to AT&T and its somewhat expensive $300 price-tag will surely slow down its momentum. While we wish Nokia had offered its flagship through a wider selection of carriers, we can only hope an unlocked version wont be too far around the corner. If this is your first venture into the Windows Phone world, there is no better place to start at the moment other than with the Lumia 1020
