Motorola has promised that it will quickly roll-out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to its devices, and the Motorola Moto X (2014) will be the first to savor the latest Android flavor. Those who owned the Pure Edition of the Moto X were able to get their hands on Lollipop ahead of others and you can see the new platform demonstrated in the following video.

The new Motorola Moto X comes with a larger 5.2 inch 1080p display, a metal frame and a more powerful Snapdragon 801 processor. However one of the more interesting enhancements is its camera.

Motorola continues its trend for offering quick software updates, by releasing Android 4.4.3 for its Moto X, Moto G (LTE), and Moto E smartphones. Motorola's Steve Horowitz, SVP of Software Engineering, has announced that Android 4.4.3, which happens to be the latest version of the platform, has been released for certain Moto X, Moto G, and Moto E models. Motorola will host a new sale for the Motorola Moto X, on May 1 (for 24 hours, only in the US), giving anyone who missed the sale in January, another chance at the discounted price. On that day, the Moto X 16GB will cost $299.99 instead of $349.99, while the 32GB model will be sold for $324.99 instead of $399.99. The Moto X Developer Edition will be be discounted as low as $324.99.

The update is being pushed OTA (over-the-air) and you should receive a notification when it is available for your device. Keep in mind that it is somewhat large at 150MB, so connecting to your Wi-Fi is advised if you want to save on your data plan.
