iPad reportedly gains more storage space with iOS 8.1.1 update

Those with the 16GB base iPad models may usually find their tablets quickly running out of space as they install new apps. Fortunately it looks like Apple has been working on a solution for this issue within their release.

Apple iOS 8Apple has released iOS 8.2 beta 1, just a day after releasing the iOS 8.1.1 update to the public. The newest beta is clearly focused on the Apple Watch, which is set to be released in early 2015.

According to the release notes, iOS 8.2 is strictly focused towards developers so they get their apps ready for Apple Watch, so they work in their other iOS counterparts. Besides the relevant APIs for developers, the newest version of iOS doesn't seem to bring any new features for consumers.

Apple Mac OS X 10.10.1 Yosemite now available for download

Apple Mac OS X (10.10) YosemiteApple has released OS X 10.10.1 Yosemite alongside Apple iOS 8.1.1 for mobile devices. The Yosemite update brings various bug fixes and performance improvements to Apple's desktop platform.

OS X Yosemite is probably one of the biggest updates to Apple's desktop platform to date. In brings some useful features like Continuity, Handoff and more. However, the big release had its own share of issues, and soon complaints started popping up from Mac users around the Internet.

Earlier this month, Apple released iOS 8.1.1 beta to developers, which promised "increased stability and performance improvements for iPad 2 and iPhone 4s" among other improvements and bug fixes. Now Apple has released iOS 8.1.1 to all compatible iOS devices.

Apple iOS 8.1 now available for download

After a couple of betas, Apple has released iOS 8.1 to all compatible iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices. The newest version of Apple's mobile OS brings a few new features and improvements including Apple Pay, iCloud Photo Library,  SMS support for iPads and Macs and, as promised, the old Camera Roll, which was replaced with "Recently Added" on iOS 8.0.

Today Apple announced several new devices including the new iPads and a new iMac with Retina. The company also unveiled a refreshed version of their budget friendly Mac mini computer, which now starts at $499.

Apple has announced a new iMac which comes with a 27 inch Retina Display. This display offers a resolution of 5210 x 2880 pixels, which puts it into the 5K display territory, making it one of the best displays on a desktop computer.

The Apple iPad mini 3 was officially unveiled today during a special press event which took place in California. Apple has kept the device mostly the same as its predecessor but includes a Touch ID fingerprint scanner, which will allow you to use Apple Pay to make online payments.

Apple Mac OS X (10.10) Yosemite Gold Master (GM) 3 released

Apple Mac OS X (10.10) YosemiteApple is rolling out the third Golden Master (GM) Candidate of OS X 10.10 Yosemite, which is expected to launch later this month, following Apple upcoming media event. At this stage, Apple isn't adding any major features or changes to Yosemite, rather refining the software and making it ready for the end user.

Apple Mac OS X (10.10) YosemiteApple has released a second Gold Master (GM) of OS X Yosemite (10.10) alongside the release of iOS 8.1 beta 2. Given that the Golden Master is usually the final build before an update is released to the public, we don't usually get a GM2 unless there are significant changes. However this doesn't seem to be the case with the OS X Yosemite GM2.

Apple's beta 2,has the 12B407 build number, contains bug fixes and improvements according to the release notes. However the 56.8MB size of the OTA update indicates that the update may include a little more than Apple is willing to reveal at this time.

Apple schedules event on October 16, likely iPad Air successor unveiling


Apple has announced that it has scheduled a press event next week, on October 16, at its campus in Cupertino. The company did not unveil what it plans to announce during the event and simply had the words "it's been way too long" accompanying the invite. During the event, the company is expected to unveil a new generation of tablets along with the successor to the Apple iPad Air.

Apple Mac OS X (10.10) Yosemite Gold Master (GM) released

Apple Mac OS X (10.10) YosemiteApple has released the Gold Master (GM) build of Mac OS X (10.10) Yosemite, indicating that the latest version of their desktop operating system is nearly ready for public consumption.

OS X Mavericks was first unveiled back in June, bringing the modern, flattened user interface from iOS 7 into Mac OS. While the features have not changed much since Mavericks, visually Apple has brought uniformity between their desktop and mobile platforms.
