We have already seen photo samples from the Nexus 6 smartphone and now we are getting an opportunity to see some early photos captured by the 8 megapixel rear camera of the Google Nexus 9 tablet. The camera features a backside illuminated sensor, f/2.4 lens, and support for 1080p video recording.

Google Nexus 6 - Photo Samples
Yesterday we saw Google unveil its Nexus 6 smartphone, which comes with a 5.9 inch Quad HD display, Snapdragon 805 processor and a 13 megapixel camera which includes optical image stabilization (OIS). Fortunately an early tester of the Google Nexus 6 is sharing first camera samples and they look pretty good.

LG demonstrates 20MP camera module with advanced OIS
The annual Korean Electronics Show is currently taking place and we have already seen Samsung demonstrate its flexible batteries. Not to be outdone, LG's research arm, LG Innotek has demonstrated a new 20 MP camera module (likely a Sony sensor) with advanced optical image stabilization (OIS).

HTC RE officially announced, a camera with a 16MP sensor, WiFi and Bluetooth
Besides the HTC Desire EYE, the company also unveiled the HTC RE during their Double Exposure event in New York. The HTC RE is a wireless "sports camera," along the same lines as products from GoPro, Sony, and any number would-be competitors.

Apple iPhone 6 - Camera Samples
Apple has released the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. Both feature improved 8 megapixel cameras with a fairly large 1.5µ pixel size, a ƒ/2.2 aperture, 5 lens design, improved phase-detection and the Focus Pixel technology which offers better and faster autofocus.

Yesterday we saw Motorola unveil its new Moto X, and it is an impressive overall update to the original both in design and performance. Samsung Galaxy Alpha - Photo Samples

Sony develops camera sensor shaped like a human eye
Sony has developed an interesting new camera sensor that improves light sensitivity and allows for the use of simpler lenses. While all current camera technology relies on a flat sensor to capture light, Sony’s newest development is a CMOS sensor that is curved, mimicking the curvature of the human retina.
