We have already seen photo samples from the Nexus 6 smartphone and now we are getting an opportunity to see some early photos captured by the 8 megapixel rear camera of the Google Nexus 9 tablet. The camera features a backside illuminated sensor, f/2.4 lens, and support for 1080p video recording.
Tablets are not typically used for photography, but we have seen improvements made to their cameras over the past years. The photos released show camera samples from various environments including a low-lit room. The images, shot in 4:3 aspect ratio, are looking very well overall, at least from where we're standing. Obviously, it remains to be seen how well those will compare with what other tablets offer - especially the next iPads, which we expect to be unveiled in a few hours from now.
