Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 for AT&T receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 for AT&T is now receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update. The update is not being offered OTA (over-the-air) and will require the Samsung Kies software in order to get the new software.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Wi-Fi variant is now receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update in the U.S. This means owners will get to experience all the great features which comes with the update including Google Now and the smoothness of project butter.

You should receive a notification when the update is available on your device. If you don’t you could manually check for the update by heading over to Settings > About Tablet > Update.

We recently reported that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 was headed to Sprint on November 11th. It looks like AT&T will beat their competitor by offering their own version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 on November 9th and even beat Sprint’s price by $50, by offering the device at $499.99.

The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 features a 10.1 inch touch display, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, two cameras and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 for Sprint coming on November 11th

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 for Sprint will be available through the carrier on November 11th. The tablet features a 10.1 inch touch display, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 3 megapixel camera, a secondary camera for video calls and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor which 1GB of RAM.

The device will run on Sprint’s 4G LTE network, runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and will cost $549.99.

Samsung MWC 2012 Overview

Samsung may not have stolen the show at the Mobile World Congress this year by unveiling the Samsung Galaxy S III, but they still had a good lineup of devices which made their debut during the event. The two main additions were in the form of tablets - the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. The other device was the Samsung Galaxy Beam with an in built projector.
