This includes Android 4.1.2 with all its improvements and enhancements including Project Butter, which makes your device far smoother. You also get the Google Now digital voice assistant which brings you the latest information based on your location.
However the most impressive enhancements come in the form of the updated Nature UX user interface which is available for Samsung Galaxy Note II and brings features like multi-view which allows true multi-tasking. The detailed changelog of the update follows:

Samsung Galaxy Note now receiving Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update
The Samsung Galaxy Note is now receiving the Android 4.0.4 software update. The update is reported to offer several bug fixes and performance improvements. Additionally it brings an updated unlock feature along with UI improvements.
You can download the update OTA or by using the Samsung Kies software, so head over to Settings to check for availability if you haven't received an update notification.

The Samsung Galaxy Note for AT&T is now receiving Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The update will bring all the goodies you would expect from ICS and additionally include a Premium Suite. The Suite will include special S-Pen related features, including the ability to draw shapes and have them correctly automatically, solve handwritten equations and create and send personalized cards to your friends.
Make sure you check for the availability of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for your Galaxy Note by heading over to Settings and selecting Check for Updates.

AT&T provides list of ‘Which devices will receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich’
With several manufacturers providing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for their devices, it is now time for the carriers in the U.S. to start pushing ICS to their customers.

Samsung Galaxy Note receives software update
The Samsung Galaxy Note has received a Software Update which will offer users the opportunity for single hand input on the huge display. The update aligns the keyboard to either the right or left side of your screen making it reachable to your hand when you want to use a single hand to input data. The update also brings some minor performance improvements and updates to the TouchWiz UI, Web Browser, Calendar and Torch apps.
The Android version remains on Android 2.3.6 and the download is 70MB in size.
