The international variant of the original Samsung Galaxy Note (GT-N7000) receives the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update. The update brings Android 4.1.2 along with all the improvements you can expect from Jelly Bean and enhancements from Samsung.
The update will definitely be a welcome site for Samsung’s original phablet which features a 5.3 inch Super AMOLED screen, a built in stylus with apps supporting pen input, an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD, a secondary camera is available for video calls and is powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM.
The update will include features like the Google Now digital voice assistant which helps you keep your life organized by managing your appointments, directions and information. You will also get the performance improvements and butter smoothness of Google’s Project Butter for Jelly Bean.
The enhancements include Samsung’s Nature UX interface, which replaces the Samsung TouchWiz UI and brings features like Direct Call, Smart Stay , Multi-View and Pop-up Play. The notifications bar will also be enhanced with more toggle switches.
The update is currently rolling out to users in Hong Kong and Taiwan and should eventually arrive to other users around the world. Since the update is generally rolled out in stages, you will eventually receive a notification when it becomes available for your device. You can check for the update availability by heading over to Settings and checking for the update. Just make sure your battery is charged and you are connected to Wi-Fi before you get started.
