The LG Optimus G has received its own taste of Android 4.4 KitKat courtesy of an unofficial source based build. The source-built ROM currently is a vanilla AOSP-based build. However, as time goes on and the Paranoid Android team updates the PA sources to work with KitKat, the builds will evolve into official Paranoid Android and bring you all of the layout and dpi features you know and love.

LG Optimus G for AT&T receives Android 4.1.2 software update
The LG Optimus G for AT&T is now starting to receive the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean software update. The update brings the build number to JZO54K, the E97020j software version, the 3.4.0 kernel, and the APQ8064/MDM9x15M baseband.
Along with the latest version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, you will get features like Project Butter which offers performance improvements over Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the Google Now digital assistant and enhancements to your notifications.
You should receive a notification when the update is available for your device, but you can manually check for its availability under Settings.

LG Optimus G for AT&T receives software update
The LG Optimus G on AT&T is receiving a new software update, but unfortunately it doesn’t bring a new version of Android. After installing the update the phone will remain on Android 4.0.4 (build IMM76L) and will have the software version E97011c.

LG Optimus G for Sprint receives Android 4.1.2 software update
The LG Optimus G for Sprint is now receiving the latest version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The software will carry version LS970ZVA and have the latest features of Android 4.1.2. This means you will have features like Project Butter which offers smooth, lag-free responsiveness, the digital assistance of Google Now which offers the latest information on traffic, sports scores, stock prices and more, Expandable notifications which gives you more information on the notification shade.
The update is bring offered OTA and it may take up to a week before it reaches all devices. If you haven't received the update notification you can manually check by heading over to Menu > Settings > Update Firmware and following the on screen instructions to install the update. The update should take around 10 minutes to download over 4G or up to 20 minutes on 3G, but its advised that you download the update over W-Fi to avoid data charges. Once the update has been downloaded it will take 5 to 10 minutes to install it.

LG Optimus G launches globally, has Android Jelly Bean pre-installed
If you live in the U.S. you would be lucky enough to already have access to the LG Optimus G. However this device has still not been released around the rest of the world until now. LG has announced that they are starting sales of the Optimus G in other countries starting with Singapore late this month, followed by other countries soon after.
The device will have the same specifications across all countries, with LTE in the regions which support it. The only difference is that the international version will have Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box, compared to the variant which was released in the U.S. with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Sony Xperia TL and LG Optimus G now available on AT&T in the US
AT&T has decided to have a launch of their own following the launch of the Apple iPad mini and have officially unveiled two high end smartphones on their network - the Sony Xperia TL and the LG Optimus G. The Optimus G is purchased for $199.99 while the Xperia TL will cost you $99.99 with both requiring a two-year commitment.
