Nokia Lumia 900 for AT&T receives Windows Phone Tango software update

The Nokia Lumia 900 for AT&T is now receiving the Windows Phone Tango update. The update will offer Windows Phone build 8779 and have the firmware version 12223. The update will bring some of the latest features including the ability to silence the device by flipping it.

Nokia Lumia 900 for AT&T to receive Windows Phone Tango soon

Today AT&T stated that the Nokia Lumia 900 will finally be receiving Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh (a.k.a. Tango). The update brings new features like flip to silence, which allows you to turn your device screen side down to silence it, DLNA streaming and new camera features.

Other features like data usage tracking and a contact sharing feature will also make its way to the Lumia 900.

Dell Venue Pro receives Windows Phone Tango update

The Dell Venue Pro is the sibling to the Android powered Dell Venue and the first and only Windows Phone 7 device to host a portrait type keyboard. Anyone who owns one of these handsets will be happy to know that the Windows Phone Tango update is now rolling out for the device.


You can receive the update on your device by connecting it to your computer using the Zune Desktop software for Windows or the Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac.

Samsung Omnia W receives Windows Phone Tango update

The Samsung Omnia W is now receiving the Windows Phone Tango update. You can obtain the update by connecting your device to your computers using Zune for Mac or Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac. The update brings a few new features including, the ability to add media files in MMS, export and import contacts to and from the phone and other performance and stability improvements.

Windows Phone Tango starts for the Nokia Lumia 710 and the Nokia Lumia 800 starts rolling out

Nokia has started rolling out the Windows Phone Tango update for the Nokia Lumia 710 and the Nokia Lumia 800 starting today, June 27. The update will be rolled out in phases and can be downloaded to your device through Zune (PC) or Windows Phone 7 connector (Mac).

Windows Phone 7.8 released for Nokia Lumia 610?

The Nokia Lumia 610 has already been spotted running Windows Phone Tango.
Now it looks like it may be getting access to a newer version of the software (1066.0.8779.12221) which could be Windows Phone 7.8 Tango.

The current version of Windows Phone is ‘8773’ which identifies the core version. The new version ‘8779’ indicates that this could be a new version of Windows Phone.

The Nokia Lumia 710 for T-Mobile is reported to receive the Windows Phone Tango update starting June 20th. The update will be available through July 31, and can be obtained by connecting your handset to the Zune Software on your computers.

Windows Phone Tango update for Nokia Lumia 710 and Nokia 800C now rolling out

Last Month Nokia promised that it would be bringing the internet sharing feature to its other Lumia devices. The update is now available for its Nokia Lumia 710 and the Nokia 800C (Chinese variant of the Lumia 800) users.

Windows Phone Tango to be launched on March 21st

It looks like the wait for Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh a.k.a Tango is finally over. A report states that Microsoft has sent out press invitations in China for the debut of the latest version of their mobile operating system on March 21st.

This statement also backs up Nokia's claim that they will have three different Lumia handsets ready to launch in China by March 28th.

Windows Phone Tango to be officially called Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh

Windows Phone Tango is a minor iteration to the current Windows Phone 7.5 and adds compatibility to the platform to support lower end devices. So it wasnt a big surprise that Microsoft chose to officially name the new version Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh instead of giving it a separate build name.

The news comes from Stefania Duico from Windows Phone Italy. This also reduces the focus on an interim build as Microsoft works it's way towards the next big version which will be Windows Phone Apollo (a.k.a. Windows Phone 8)

Windows Phone Tango features revealed

A recent report has revealed some of the new features along with the hardware specifications of the upcoming version of Windows Phone - Tango. The update to the platform is primarily aimed at expanding it's reach by reducing it's hardware requirements.

Windows Phone Apollo is the next major update to the Windows Phone platform and is likely the codename for Windows Phone 8. Windows Phone’s Mango update has been released to manufacturing and will find it’s way to most devices by the end of 2011.
