Purchasing a new phone can be a challenging task. First you will have to choose a platform, then a brand you like and hope your carrier offers the device you want on their network. In this guide I wanted to talk about the issues I faced when I was looking to purchase an unlocked Apple iPhone.

[Guide] How to install Whited00r 7 and bring the iOS 7 experience to iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G and older iPod Touch
Purchasing an iOS device can be expensive, but it gets frustrating when your device quickly gets old and you no longer get access to the latest software updates from Apple. Recently the company released iOS 7.0 which shelved even more of our older iOS devices by removing support with the update.
Last year we saw the rise of a tool called Whited00r, which brought an iOS 6.0 look and features to devices like the original Apple iPhone 2G, Apple iPhone 3G, Apple iPod Touch first gen or Apple iPod Touch second gen. Now the team have turned their attention to iOS 7, claiming to recreate the iOS 7 experience without slowing the handset down in the process.

All iPhones go head to head in a speed comparison video
Device comparisons are a common thing. We generally look forward to how one device stacks up against another, in an attempt to help select the best device for us. If you are an iPhone user you choice is generally simple, as Apple releases only one iPhone a year. This year was different as Apple chose to release two devices into the market.

Apple sends out official invites to September 10th event
After some time of speculation Apple has sent out official invitations for an event on September 10th with the tag title "This should brighten everyone's day." The event is scheduled to be held in San Francisco at 10AM PT (1PM EST), and we will be covering the event as it happens.
The bright colors along with the reference in the tag line clearly refers to Apple iOS 7.0, which is nearly ready for public consumption. However it could also refer to the colorful iPhone colors that have been frequenting the rumor mills.

The Apple iPhone was greeted six years ago and would forever change the course of smartphones after it. The smartphone was first announced on January 9th 2007 but would eventually make its way to the public 6 years ago to date. The first iPhone featured a 3.5 inch touch display with a 320 by 480 pixel resolution and a pixel density of 165 ppi which is far from the Retina Display on the modern Apple iPhone 5.
Additionally the original iPhone featured a 2 megapixel rear camera, up to 8GB of internal storage and was powered by a 412MHz processor with just 128MB of RAM.

T-Mobile and Apple have reached an agreement to sell Apple products in the U.S.
T-Mobile USA has entered into an agreement with Apple, to sell Apple products like the iPhone and iPad in their U.S. stores by 2013. Apple has also confirmed the announcement, but there were no further details regarding device availability or if they will be able to access HSPA+ speeds.
Up until now T-Mobile users have not had accessed to subsidized Apple products and have had to rely on unlocked devices which are generally quite expensive. Even then since Apple doesn’t support the T-Mobile 3G speeds, devices are limited to slow 2G data speeds.
The announcement was made by Deutsche Telekom Chairman Rene Obermann, who had the following to say:

Original iPhone available on eBay in mint condition for $10,000
The first Apple iPhone was released back in 2007 and changed the mobile landscape forever. It will definitely become a hot collectors item someday, but it looks like its time may have arrived. Two original iPhones are now available on eBay in their packaging and in mint condition, and if you are a collector looking to add the device to your collection you can get it for $10,000 through eBay’s Buy it Now feature.
One of the two devices are up for auction with the current price standing at $2,025.00 with 5 days left. So there is a chance that someone may end up purchasing it for much lesser than the asking price.

[Guide] How to official unlock your iPhone on AT&T
A report surfaced last week that starting April 8th AT&T would unlock iPhones that were no longer under contract. Having your iPhone unlocked will allow you to use any SIM from any carrier on your device. This would also mean that you wouldn’t have to rely on software based unlock methods like Ultrasn0w.
Its turns out that the process can be quite simple. You can head over to an AT&T store near you to request the unlock or you can do it yourself using the following step by step guide.
Apple reported to be testing A5X for the new iPhone
Apple is reported to be testing the A5X chip which powers the new iPad on a new iPhone. The chip is said to be a scaled down version of the iPad chip as the iPhone which will be smaller wont require the power required by the high resolution retina display on the iPad.
