[GUIDE] How to jailbreak iOS 6.1.2 (untethered) using Evasi0n 1.4


As you may know Apple recently released iOS 6.1.2 to fix several bugs which was plaguing the platform. Fortunately the jailbreak exploit wasn't patched in this release. However the Evad3rs jailbreak team have released a new version of their Evasi0n (1.4) which has full support for iOS 6.1.2 and allows you to continue to jailbreak your device untethered.

All devices which run iOS 6.0 through iOS 6.1.2 are support including the Apple iPhone 5. The only device which isnt supports is Apple TV 3, which cannot be jailbroken yet.



[NOTE] Jailbreaking your device is not recommended by Apple and can cause performance issues or function improperly. Please note that you are proceeding at your own risk.
  1. Download Evasi0n 1.4 and extract the content to your computer [ WINDOWS | MAC | LINUX ]

  2. Download and install iOS 6.1.2 on your iOS device. OTA updates are not recommended as they may cause issues with the jailbreak, so its best to manually download the files and install the update using iTunes.

  3. Turn off Passcode Lock if it is enabled. You can do this by heading over to Settings > General > Passcode Lock > Off.

  4. Run the Evasion jailbreak tool on your computer.

  5. Connect your iOS device to your computer using the provided USB cable and wait for your connected device is recognized by the jailbreak tool.

  6. Click the Jailbreak button and wait for the to to perform the steps needed to jailbreak your device.
    [NOTE] Make sure you don’t touch your device or run other apps in your computer to avoid interrupting the jailbreak process.

  7. Once the process is complete you will notice a Jailbreak app has been installed on your iOS device.
    • Run the app and the screen will go black for a few seconds.
    • After some time you will be returned to your homescreen

  8. The rest of the process is automated and your device will reboot several times to complete the process. You will know the process is complete when you see the Cydia app on your device homescreen.
