Apple sends out official invites to September 10th event

After some time of speculation Apple has sent out official invitations for an event on September 10th with the tag title "This should brighten everyone's day."  The event is scheduled to be held in San Francisco at 10AM PT (1PM EST), and we will be covering the event as it happens.

The bright colors along with the reference in the tag line clearly refers to Apple iOS 7.0, which is nearly ready for public consumption. However it could also refer to the colorful iPhone colors that have been frequenting the rumor mills.

Alongside iOS 7, Apple is also expected to unveil a new iPhone, Recent rumors suggest that the company will unveil not one, but two new iPhones during the event. The Apple iPhone 5S is expected to succeed the current Apple iPhone 5, while an affordable Apple iPhone 5C will attempt to battle the entry level smartphone market away from Android and Windows Phone.

The iPhone 5S is rumored to feature an A7 processor, which is expected to be 31% faster than the current iPhone 5. It is also expected to have a fingerprint scanner and a 13 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash. Meanwhile the iPhone 5C is rumored to bring an array of colors and have a plastic build to allow affordability. While rumors suggest the iPhone 5C will replace the iPhone 5, we think its more likely to take the place of the iPhone 4S, thus retiring Apple's 3.5 inch display and giving users a choice of iPhones with 4 inch displays.
