With the Xbox One due out on Friday, Microsoft has released a new SmartGlass app for their new console. The app is available across all platforms, including Android, iOS, Windows Phone 8, Windows 8 and Windows RT. Last week it was Sony who updated their PlayStation companion app for their PlayStation 4 release. Its good to see that Microsoft is not wasting any time ensuring that their console is readily welcome by the public.
You can download the app directly on your device through your respective App Store or by using the following links:
The Xbox One for SmartGlass app has similar functionality to the PlayStation companion app. For example you get a second screen options to "enhance" the games you play or movies you watch, you can use the app to navigate the system, and control media. A nice addition is the ability to use the app to surf the web on your TV.
Additionally you can also track achievements, message friends, watch game clips, and get help on your games. One of the most useful features is the ability to browse the content you have pinned on your Xbox dashboard directly on your mobile device, even when you are not home.
