Apple iOS 5.1 was released yesterday and it has already been jailbroken. It works on all iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch which support iOS 5.1 except the iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and of course the unreleased new iPad.
Unfortunately this is still a tethered jailbreak, which means you will have to connect to your computer every time you want to restart your device into it's jailbroken state. While a Semi-Tether patch is available, it's functionality are extremely limited and we would advise users to hold on until the untethered jailbreak has been released.

Apple iOS 5.1 released, available for download
Along with the announcement of the new iPad, Apple has also released iOS 5.1 which is available for download for the iPhone, iPad and the iPod Touch. The update mainly eradicates the battery draining issues which has plagued some iPhone 4S users. Apple has also released the iTunes 10.6 update

iOS 5.1 (Beta 03) released
Apple has released the first beta of iOS 5.1 for iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad, iPod Touch 3G and iPod Touch 4G. This release is only available to developers who have registered in Apple's standard or enterprise developer program.

Apple preparing iOS 5.0.2 and iOS 5.1
Apple is reportedly working on two new updates for iOS 5. The iOS 5.0.2 is another update to try and fix the battery issues the iPhones have been facing since iOS 5 was released. The iOS 5.1 update is said to add new features to Apple digital voice assistant - Siri.
