The Sony SmartWatch 2 is the successor to last year's SmartWatch, bringing slight incremental changes as the company is still in the stage of gauging the wearable electronics market. Even though it has a low-resolution display you get decent battery life, simplified interface, water resistance, and hundreds of third party apps.

Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra and SmartWatch 2 coming to the US
If you live in the U.S. you probably know that Sony products tend to arrive later than most other brands. Luckily the manufacturer wants this to change. The company's newest lineup with include the Sony Xperia Z1, the Sony Xperia Z Ultra phablet and the Sony SmartWatch 2 are set to be launched in the United States.

Sony SmartWatch 2 showcased, coming later in September for €179
The Sony SmartWatch 2 was first unveiled back in June, and reintroduced during yesterday's press conference at the IFA 2013. However the Samsung Gear unveiling seems to have boosted Sony's need to showcase their own Android smartwatch one more time, and they have even included the information that it will be released in late September with a €179 pricing.

Sony Smartwatch 2 officially announced
Sony has just unveiled their impressive water resistant Sony Xperia Z Ultra. But they have also introduced a great accessory which goes side by side with your new phablet - the Sony Smartwatch 2.
The new SmartWatch 2 allows you to check your calls, messages, emails and notifications without having to reach for your smartphone. It has a 1.6 inch touch display with a 220 by 176 pixel resolution encased in a beautifully designed aluminum frame. Sony has even included (IP57 certified) water resistance like the Xperia Z Ultra to keep your device extra safe when you are at the beach or visiting a pool.
