Following the release of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich software update for the HTC Thunderbolt, Verizon has also released a software update for the HTC Droid Incredible. The Droid Incredible which is exclusive to Verizon features a 3.7 inch touch display, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8 megapixel camera and is powered by a 1GHz processor
It isn't a major software update which we would like it to be, rather a software fix for the random reboot issues which have plagued the device. The software version will be upgraded to 4.08.605.19 but you will remain on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
The Android 2.3.4 update which was released for the HTC Droid Incredible back in September, but users have been reporting issues. Now Verizon and HTC have prepared a revised update which will be sent OTA (Over-the-Air) to Droid Incredible users starting today.
After receiving Android 2.2 Froyo back in August last year, the HTC Droid Incredible is now receiving Android 2.3.4 which is the latest version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Verizon who shared this information claimed that the update will bring the new features, security and stability updates which come with Gingerbread. It will also fix several issues which have been reported by Verizon customers regarding MMS Messaging, Bluetooth connectivity and the City ID app.
The HTC Thunderbolt and the HTC Droid Incredible are set to receive their Android 2.3 Gingerbread updates in September according to HTC's Facebook page. While the update has been expected for the Thunderbolt, it is a pleasant surprise on the much older Droid Incredible.

The HTC Droid Incredible will be receiving the Android 2.2 Froyo update starting today according to a report from Verizon. The update will be offered Over-the-Air (OTA). It has also been reported that all new devices shipped as of today will have Android 2.2 on-board.
The update will include a new version of the HTC Sense UI, which include minor updates to the media player and a flashlight application which allows you to use the LED light on the device as a flashlight.
With The Droid Incredible holding the throne as the flagship device for Verizon, it was hard to imagine a device that can dethrone it. Then along comes the Motorola Droid 2. The Droid 2 doesn't leap far ahead of the original Droid in terms of features with it sharing most of the same features as it's older brother. But it does feature a better keyboard.
