Motorola Droid 2 receives (4.5.621) software update

The is the sequel to the original Motorola Droid which defined Android as a serious competitor to the iPhone craze. The Droid 2 unfortunately did not live up to it’s expectation as a successor and quickly gave way to it’ competitors.

Anyone who is still holding onto this device will be happy to know the device has not been totally forgotten and that an OTA update is now available for the Motorola Droid 2

Motorola R2-D2 receives (4.5.622.A957) software update


The Motorola R2-D2 will receive a maintenance update whic will update the software version to 4.5.622.A957 with Andriod 2.3.4. The update brings a host of security features, enhancements, bug fixes and updated Verizon apps.

Motorola Droid 2 Global receives Android 2.3 Gingerbread software update

The Motorola Droid 2 Global has been updated with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The update will be made available OTA and adds some new features and bug fixes along with the features you can expect with Gingerbread.

The improvements include a Download Manager app which will help manage your downloads from apps and emails. Under manage applications you will be able to view which apps are running and how much memory and storage space they are using.

Motorola Droid 2 vs. HTC Droid Incredible - Video Comparison

With The Droid Incredible holding the throne as the flagship device for Verizon, it was hard to imagine a device that can dethrone it. Then along comes the Motorola Droid 2. The Droid 2 doesn't leap far ahead of the original Droid in terms of features with it sharing most of the same features as it's older brother. But it does feature a better keyboard.
