Those enrolled in the Windows Phone Preview for Developers will now be treated to the 8.10.14176 build of Windows Phone, which is currently being pushed out by Microsoft. The update is said to bring performance improvements and bug fixes to the platform.
Those who are members of Windows Phone Preview for Developers get to test out new Windows Phone builds before they are made available to regular Windows Phone users. Those who are running the Preview for Developer are currently on Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 (GDR1), and will likely receive Update 2 in October (GDR2).
The current update should fix several issues with GDR1 including the 80188308 error that some Windows Phone users were seeing while trying to install Windows Phone 8.1 on their phones.
This error screen resulted "due to lack of storage space in the system partition during update." Microsoft expects the new build to fix this problem. If it doesn't help, you will need to use the Nokia Software Recovery Tool to rest your phone.
Other problems fixed include the inability of the HTC 8X and HTC 8S to receive the Windows Phone 8.1 update. Those two models did not have the proper drivers installed, which caused Microsoft to stop trying to update the two handsets.
Lastly, more Lumia owners who are members of the Developer Preview program, will start receiving the Lumia Cyan update. Microsoft had started rolling it out for some models a few weeks ago. But the guys and gals in Redmond plan on speeding things up. Every day, a couple of more devices will be receiving the update until all Lumia models are accounted for.
