HTC One X for AT&T receives Android 4.2.2 software update

HTC One X
We previously reported that the Android 4.4 update had been delayed by two weeks for the U.S. version of the HTC One. However the Taiwan based manufacturer has started rolling out the update for the HTC One X for AT&T as promised.

The update is being pushed OTA (over-the-air) and brings the 2.15.502.1 software version, which includes Android 4.2.2 combined with the HTC Sense 5 user interface. This means you will now get access to BlinkFeed, which offers quick access to your latest news and social media feeds. The update also includes an updated Gallery app, Video Highlights, Music Channel and Miracast. The update also will fix problems with the AT&T address book, and problems with NFC.

Such updates are generally released in a staggered basis which means not everyone will receive it at the same time. If you don't receive it today, perhaps it will come tomorrow. You should get notification when the update is available for your device, but you could also manually check for the update by going to  All apps > Settings > AT&T Software Updates > Check for updates > Ok.

The download should take around 20 minutes to complete, followed by around 10 minutes to update your device. Make sure that you have at least 35% of battery life before you initiate the update and stay connected to your Wi-Fi if you want to save data on your mobile plan.
