ASUS MeMo Pad HD 7 is an affordable tablet for developing countries

The Asus MeMo Pad HD 7 was one of the tablets announced by the company at today's Computex as the smaller sibling to the Asus MeMO Pad FHD 10. The device features a 7 inch display, up to 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 5 megapixel camera, a secondary 1.2 megapixel camera for video calls and is powered by a quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM.

The tablet is expected to be offered in developing markets later this year and will cost $130 with 8GB of storage while the 16GB model will cost $150.

Despite its low cost its quad-core processor and 1GB memory should delivery a reasonable experience to its users, which isn't typical for low-cost tablets. In terms of software, users will have Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with the Asus Waveshare UI on top.

If you are in one of the regions that the device will be shipped to, you can get your hands on it in July and choose between black, white, pink or green once it launches.
