Users looking for an affordable Windows Phone 8 device will likely have their eyes on the Nokia Lumia 520. Meanwhile if you are living in the U.S. T-Mobile their own variant of the device, the Nokia Lumia 521. The Lumia 521 was first announced earlier this month but T-Mobile did not reveal pricing or availability information back then.
Now they have reported that the handset will be released on April 27th during a special event and will cost less than $150.
This will be the first time T-Mobile and a Nokia smartphone will be featured at HSN's bi-annual Innovation Weekend. The Windows Phone 8 handset will cost $149.95 and will come bundled with a car charger and screen protector. Users will have have a flex pay option if they require one.
The Lumia 521 features a 4.0 inch touch display, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 5 megapixel camera capable of 720p HD video capture and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor with 512 MB of RAM. The device also features exclusive Nokia applications such as Nokia Music, Cinemagraph, Creative Studio, Panorama, Smart Shoot and HERE Drive, Maps and Transit.
Following its HSN debut the Lumia 521 will be available on May 11 through Microsoft Retail Stores for $149 and through Walmart with a $30 per month unlimited Web and text plan from T-Mobile. The device will be available through T-Mobile retail channels at a later date.
