[BlackBerry app] Machinarium

Machinarium by Amanita Design is one of the most anticipated games for the BlackBerry PlayBook and it has been released today. The game was briefly previewed during the DevCon this year and features beautiful hand drawn backgrounds in a world of robots, mechanisms and puzzles.

You play as Josef the robot who has been discarded on a scrap heap. Your goal is to confront the Black Cap Brotherhood and save Josef's robot girlfriend.

BlackBerry PlayBook costs $199 at Best Buy in the United States

Following in the footsteps of their Canadian counterparts, Best Buy USA is offering the BlackBerry PlayBook at a reduced price.

The 16GB version will cost $199.99, while the 32GB version is $229.99 and the 64GB version costs $299.99. At the point of posting this report the 16GB and 64GB models are in back order with shipments pointing towards mid December. The 32GB model still remains in stock.

Black Friday Deals from Sprint

Sprint has revealed their own deals for the upcoming Black Friday deals. The pricing will be available between November 25th - November 27th and will include the Google Nexus S with a deal on Google Wallet.

The Google Nexus S which is usually priced at $99.99 will be available for free with a 2-year contact and  those who sign up for the device will get exclusive access to the Google Wallet along with $25 of spending money just for signing up.

BlackBerry PlayBook discounted to $199 ?

A leaked flyer reveals that the office retail chain store, Staples is planning to offer the BlackBerry PlayBook at $199 on November 25th as part of the stores Black Friday offerings.

The PlayBook was recently reduced to $299 to compete with the Amazon Kindle Fire, which set a new pricing standard for 7-inch tablets. Originally the 16GB Wi-Fi version was priced at $499 but had to reduce it's price due to poor sales.

[Guide] How to downgrade BlackBerry PlayBook OS from 2.0 to 1.0.7

BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 (Developer Beta) was  made available for the BlackBerry PlayBook to developers following this year's DevCon in the U.S.

The purpose of this release was to help developers prepare Android apps to run on the PlayBook.

This release does not feature any end-user features or functionality and may affect the normal operation of applications which have been built for BlackBerry PlayBook OS 1.0.7. BlackBerry Tablet OS 2.0 demonstrated

Developers who visited the BlackBerry DevCon received a beta version of BlackBerry Tablet OS 2.0 for the BlackBerry Playbook. The update is expected to bring the much anticipated Android app player - which allows users to use Android applications on their BlackBerry PlayBooks. BlackBerry PlayBook discounted by $200

The BlackBerry Playbook seems to be one of the tablets that has felt the sting of the recently announced Amazon Kindle Fire. So much so that Staples, Office Depot and Best Buy have slashed the prices of RIM's tablet by $200.

This means that the 16GB model will cost you $299, while the 64GB model will set you back $499.

The BlackBerry PlayBook has a trump card thanks to the QNX platform which it is built on which allows users to load and run Android applications on the device.
