HTC Droid Incredible receives Android 2.2 software update

The HTC Droid Incredible will be receiving the  update starting today according to a report from Verizon. The update will be offered Over-the-Air (OTA). It has also been reported that all new devices shipped as of today will have Android 2.2 on-board.

The update will include a new version of the HTC Sense UI, which include minor updates to the media player and a flashlight application which allows you to use the LED light on the device as a flashlight.

HTC EVO 4G receives Android 2.2 software update

HTC has finally rolled out  for the HTC EVO 4G on Sprint, which features a 4.3 inch display, 1GB of internal storage, an additional 8GB microSD card, an 8 megapixel camera and is powered by a 1GHz processor.

The update is available as an image file, which is can be downloaded directly from HTC’s website. Here is the official description from Sprint:

Android 2.2 Froyo

The Android 2.2 Froyo (short for frozen yogurt) software update introduces many new and exciting features for users and developers. The new features include improvements to the homescreen, Exchange support, improvements to the camera and gallery, ability to user your device as a Wi-Fi hotspot, multiple keyboard languages and improvement performance.
