T-Mobile announced today on Twitter and Google+ that it will be delaying the launch of the highly anticipated Google Nexus 6 by a week. According to sources said to be familiar with the situation, the problem revolves around Motorola's scheduled delivery of Nexus 6 inventory to the carrier. Shipments of the handset that were due to arrive this past weekend, failed to appear
As a result, only one-third of T-Mobile's brick and mortar stores would have had inventory of the phone had T-Mobile not implemented the delay. That probably would have led many T-Mobile customers to suffer through a poor customer experience.
So it looks like T-Mobile had no choice but to delay the launch of the Nexus 6 from tomorrow to next week. That means Sprint customers will be the first to get their hands on Google's newest flagship this Friday. AT&T is will start accepting pre-orders tomorrow, but have not given a specific launch date yet.
