The Sony Xperia Z1s is a variant of the Xperia Z1 for T-Mobile in the US. This device is currently receiving an OTA (over-the-air) update which brings the 14.4.B.0.56 software version along with a few new features and improvements.
The primary new feature is the inclusion of in-flight texting support. This way users can communicate with folks on the ground for free via Gogo thanks to a partnership T-Mobile debuted a couple months back. The update also brings Wi-Fi calling enhancements to the Xperia Z1s, which is a welcome addition considering the carrier's reliance on Wi-Fi networks to complement its cellular network.
The OTA update will also bring improvements to the camera and Bluetooth while enhanceing the device's overall stability.
