The Google Now Launcher for Android has been updated to version 1.1.0.1167994 and now includes support for devices running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or higher. The Google Now launcher offers a new stock Android experience with quick access to Google Now which is located as your left most homescreen.
You can download the launcher directly on your Android device through the Google Play Store or by using the following link:
Additionally you can set the launcher to allow access to Google Now from any home-screen by uttering the words "OK, Google", which is quite convenient.
The updated Google Now for Android allows you to quickly import your home-screen shortcuts and layout from your existing launcher. The launcher also makes the status and navigation bars translucent and the wallpaper is even visible when you browse through your apps.
The launcher was first launched on the Google Nexus 5 last year, and was updated for Nexus and Google Play edition devices in February. While most of us who found the launcher impressive may have found a way to sideload it onto our devices, its nice to see that Google has made it easier for anyone running Jelly Bean to get access to it.
