Asus Transformer Book V officially announced


Asus has announced a very interesting device at the ongoing Computex exhibition at Taipei, which it is calling the . It is interesting because it is made up of three components - A smartphone, a tablet and a keyboard dock. The tablet when docked turns the device into a notebook with access to full Windows 8.1. Docking the phone to the combo allows the option of using Android instead.

The tablet has a 12.5 inch touch display 128GB of internal storage and is powered by an Intel Core processor with 4GB of RAM. When the device is docked to the keyboard you get access to an additional 1TB of native storage through the keyboard dock. The phone which is visually similar to the Asus Zenfone 5, runs Android 4.4 KitKat. It features a 5 inch display, 64GB of internal storage, an 8MP rear camera, a 2MP front camera, LTE connectivity and a 64-bit quad-core Moorefield Intel Atom processor with 2GB of RAM.

Essentially the Asus Transformer Book V can be used as a Windows and Android tablet, a Windows and Android notebook or an Android phone. Sadly there is no news on pricing and availability yet, but stay tuned and we will have the information available to you as soon as we know.
