Samsung Galaxy S5 coming to major US carriers in April


Samsung Galaxy S5Several major carriers in the US have announced the upcoming availability of the Samsung Galaxy S5 following the official announcement of the new flagship at the company's Unpacked 5 Event. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and MetroPCS have confirmed that they will be bringing the device to their customers in April. Verizon, the nation's largest carrier is also expected to confirm availability very soon.

While none of the carriers have specified an exact date or pricing, it is assumed that the Galaxy S5 will be available on April 11th, the date Samsung stated during its keynote.

AT&T in their statement said that they also be offering the Gear 2, Gear Neo and Gear Fit for purchase alongside the Galaxy S5. Sprint is running a contest to win a $100 Visa gift card just for pre-registering for more info on the S5. Meanwhile T-Mobile and Metro PCS are giving their customers a chance to win a Galaxy S5 with a S-View Flip Cover courtesy of a contest.

[UPDATE] Verizon has taken to Twitter, and said that they would also be offering the Samsung Galaxy S5 on "the largest and most reliable 4G LTE network." Furthermore, they have a picture posted of the Galaxy S5 showing it in the black and white colors with the Verizon logo on the back. Hopefully they will also carry it in the blue and gold color as well. Lastly, Verizon has a sign-up page, where you can enter in your E-Mail address and they will notify you once the Galaxy S5 is available.

It will be interesting to see if all the mentioned US carriers will release the Samsung Galaxy S5 on the same date, and if their prices will be similar.

For those who don't live in the US, they will be able to get the Galaxy S5 staring April 11 as the device becomes available through 150 countries around the world.
