Huawei Ascend G6 officially announced at MWC

Today Huawei announced a new lineup of devices at their MWC Press Event. One of them is the mid-range Huawei Ascend G6 which is inspired by the company's flagship, the Huawei Ascend P6.

The Ascend G6 features a 4.5-inch touch display with a 540x960 pixel resolution, an 8-megapixel f/2.0 aperture rear-facing camera with a Sony IMX134 sensor, a 5 megapixel front facing camera, NFC, 2000 mAh battery and a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. The handset is expected to feature 4G LTE connectivity, but will initially launch as a 3G only version. The 3G version will be  slightly slimmer, at 7.5 mm, while the 4G LTE model will have a 7.85 mm width.

Huawei will be making the 3G model of the Ascend G6 available first, in Q1 this year, while the 4G LTE version will see the light of day in April. And the suggested retail price? €249, or about $342.
