Google Maps for Android has been updated to version 7.0 and brings a new user interface to the application, which we saw demonstrated at this year's Google I/O. The update also brings the Android version of Maps in line with the latest version of Google Maps for iOS.

The new version of Google Maps for Android is only available to devices running Android 4.0.3 or higher and will roll-out over the next few weeks. So if you haven't already received the update be sure to lookout for it in the days ahead. The new version in version 7.0 include
- A new design for Android phones and tablets
- Enhanced navigation including live traffic updates, incident reports and dynamic rerouting
- Explore: A new way to browse and discover popular local places to eat, drink, shop, play and sleep
