Mozilla Firefox OS - Video Demo


Firefox-OSMozilla’s CEO Gary Kovacs recently revealed that their HTML5 based Firefox OS devices will be available in the U.S. sometime in 2014. This year it will be arriving in countries like Brazil, Colombia, Hungary, Mexico, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Spain and Venezuela with additional markets expected to be announced soon. The devices will be manufactured by LG, Huawei, ZTE and Alcatel and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors.

Mozilla has released a video which demonstrates some of the interesting features of Firefox OS, including the ability to search for movies on the device, which displays a list of movie-related apps like Fandango and IMDB.


Firefox OS, which is an open source platform like Android and will attempt to make a name for itself in regions which aren't dominated by Android or iOS before it become more vastly available.

Until now 17 carriers have agreed to carry Firefox OS devices including Sprint in the United States. The list of carriers include America Movil, China Unicom, Deutsche Telekom, Etisalat, Hutchison Three Group, KDDI, KT, MegaFon, Qtel, SingTel, Smart, Sprint, Telecom Italia Group, Telefonica, Telenor, TMN and VimpelCom.
