Mozilla CEO Gary Kovacs recently revealed his company’s partnership with LG and other prominent device manufacturers, to introduce Firefox OS based devices. During a Q&A session he also revealed that the company expected the first Firefox devices to come to the United States “somewhere in the 2014 time-frame”.
The first wave of Firefox OS devices are expected to arrive around the Summer of this year in Europe and its clear that the company wants to launch their product in areas which haven't been overwhelmed by Android and iOS devices. Firefox OS devices will offer entry level smartphones powered by HTML5 technology and will be a great option for those who aren't willing to spend the premium rates for a smartphone experience.
While the carriers which will be attached to bringing Firefox OS to the U.S. weren't revealed, its likely that Sprint, which was in attendance at the event may be the likely choice.
