Windows Phone 8 LogoThere have been recent reports suggesting that the long-anticipated Window Phone 7.8 software update will start rolling out on January 31st. This has been further confirmed by a Telstra update schedule which shows that the Nokia Lumia 800 will be receiving the WP7.8 update on January 31st. Additionally O2 has also sent out a tweet suggesting that the WP7.8 update will be released by the end of January.

All this information now makes January 31st a very possible date of the update process to be initiated.

We know that the Windows Phone 7.8 update has been on Nokia’s servers for some time now and we even put together a guide showing users how to install Windows Phone 7.8 on their Nokia Lumia device. Users who have patiently waited can now rest assured that they will very likely be receiving the update to their Windows Phone 7.5 devices during the month of February.

Windows Phone 7.8 is a visual update to the Windows Phone 7 platform, which attempts to mimic the features of the fully functional Windows Phone 8. Thus it brings the resizable live tiles along with some other minor enhancements including twenty new theme colors and the Bing wallpaper of the day.
