Photosynth for Windows Phone is a great app from Microsoft which allows users to capture 360 panorama photos similar to the Photosphere feature introduced on devices like the Google Nexus 4 with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Unfortunately while Photosynth is available for Windows Phone 7, Microsoft didn't have the app ready in time for Windows Phone 8.
The Microsoft team have finally confirmed the reason for the delay and promise that the app is just “weeks away” from release.
According to a tweet send out by the Photosynth team, the delay was due to a problem with drivers on a few important phones. Since there aren't too many Windows Phone 8 models in the market, one would wonder what the actual cause of the delay could be. Still it is good to see that Microsoft is making progress on the issue and it will be great to have the app available to devices like the Nokia Lumia 920.
If you own a Windows Phone 7.5 device you can download Photosynth for Windows Phone and try it out right now.
