Windows Phone 8 receives Maps update

An update to the Maps application on Windows Phone 8 is on its way bringing better detail and improving traffic information. At a time when Apple Maps is going through heavy criticism, it’s a good idea for competitors to stay ahead with quick updates.

You can get the update by heading over to Settings > Applications > Maps > Check for Updates to check for its availability. If you find that it is available for your device click Update and download the update to your device.

The update is expected to be around 286.2 MB in size and we would recommend connecting your device to your Wi-Fi connection to avoided overages on your data plan.

One of the biggest advantages of the Maps for Windows Phone is that you can use it offline, which is great when you’ve lost your data signal or to save valuable data on your plan.

Once you have updated your device, leave us a comment on any new changes you come across with the update.
