Its not easy to select a Windows Phone device, mostly because the operating system cannot be customized and looks the same across various manufacturer’s devices. However not all devices are the same as it will become evident in the following video comparison of the Nokia Lumia 920 and the HTC Windows Phone 8X.
Both devices feature a dual core Snapdragon S4 chip clocked at 1.5GHz supported with 1GB RAM. This should result in similar performance on both handsets. Both devices also features similar connectivity options with 3G/4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC.
In terms of design both come in an array of colors that can suite your personal preference, but the HTC 8X is significantly smaller, lighter and thinner than the Lumia 920.
The display of the Lumia 920 is a larger 4.5 inch super sensitive display featuring Nokia’s PureMotion HD+ technology, which is supposed to be better than regular HD displays. Meanwhile the HTC 8X has a 4.3 inch Super LCD2 display.
The Lumia 920 features 32GB of internal storage while the HTC 8X has 16GB on the device. Users can take advantage of the free 7GB of storage on SkyDrive.
The Lumia 920 has a 8.7 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens and Nokia’s PureView imaging technology, which allows the Lumia 920 to perform very well in low light and prevents blurring with image stabilization. Meanwhile the HTC 8X has an 8 megapixel camera with a BSI sensor and a dedicated imaging processor which allows fast image capture.
The Lumia 920 has a 2000 mAh battery while the HTC 8X has a smaller 1800 mAh battery. Since the Lumia 920 has a larger display more powerful flash the difference maybe insignificant.
While many would argue that both devices have an identical experience with Windows Phone 8, the Lumia 920 benefits from a collection of exclusive Nokia apps like Nokia Maps and Nokia Drive. Meanwhile the HTC 8X has its own collection of apps courtesy of the HTC.
