The Nokia Lumia 810 is one of the first Windows Phone 8 devices and is available in the U.S. exclusively through T-Mobile. It can now be yours for FREE through a special ongoing deal from T-Mobile. The device is generally sold at $149.99 on contract, but if you sign up for a device on the carrier’s website before December 27th you wont have to pay a cent to get your hands on it. This deal is only available online and not through the T-Mobile stores.
The Lumia 810 is a mid-range smartphone which features a 4.3 inch touch display with a (WVGA) 480 x 800 pixel resolution, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video capture, a secondary 1.2 megapixel HD camera for video calls, and is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 processor. Despite not having the best specifications in the market, the device performance is very fluid and snappy with Windows Phone 8.
The device has a somewhat generous 1800mAh battery which lasts around two days and you can opt for a wireless charging kit to take advantage of the inbuilt Qi-wireless charging on the device.
You can also take advantage of the Nokia app collection on your Lumia device, including Nokia Drive which offers free turn-by-turn navigation and traffic alerts, Nokia Transit to help you navigate public transportation and Nokia City Lens which assists you in discovering you local restaurants, sites and hot spots.
In terms of competition the Lumia 810 competes with two of its own, the Lumia 820 on AT&T and the Lumia 822 on Verizon. Both the latter feature 4G LTE connectivity compared to the 4G HSPA+ on the T-Mobile model. But T-Mobile promises that the provide the widest 4G coverage, so it may be worth checking it out.
