Nokia Lumia 800 - New Firmware Update (12072) fixes audio bug



Nokia has been working on readying a minor update for the which is aimed at fixing an audio bug which has been plaguing users.

The update is also reported to include an improved camera app with new camera settings. An update to the camera was reported to be coming back in February and we are curious if this is it.

The volume bug causes issues when playing video games and with the ringtone.The update will follow the 12070 Software Update which fixed a Power Management issue with Nokia’s first Windows Phone.

Nokia has already started rolling out the update in certain regions and you can obtain the update by connecting your device to the Zune Desktop Software on your Windows computer or the Windows Phone 7 Connecter for your Mac.

Mobiletechworld has provided a manual update method, which will allow you to get the 12072 update for the Nokia Lumia 800 immediately.

  1. Download the PR 1.2 1600.2487.8107.12072 firmware
  2. Download the update from the first link above then download the WPupdate tools.
  3. Unzip the Tools in a folder then copy the firmware to the same folder as the tools.
  4. Plug in your device, wait until the Zune client starts and then close it.
  5. Run the the Updater and press S or B
  6. Your phone will then reboot in download mode and update. Please do not unplug or interrupt the update process.
