Mozilla's rapid release of their Firefox browser continues with the final release of Firefox 9 now available on Mozilla's servers for download.
Visually you wont notice any changes in the UI as the main focus of this release seams to be improved JavaScript performance.
JavaScript performance is reported to have been improved as much as 20 - 30% over the previous version of the browser. You should notice this in modern websites which heavily make use of JavaScript.
Mac users will also notice some new improvements as Firefox adopts the new features introduced in OS X Lion. Firefox 9 brings gesture based navigation to your browsing experience.
With Firefox 9 expected to go live tomorrow, there is still no official change-log, but the above mentioned features seam to be all this update has to offer. You can download the latest stable version of Firefox for the operating system of your choice using the links which follow:
If you are a user who relies a lot on add-ons like I do you may want to wait a few days until the add-ons you use get support for the new browser.
