Smartphones still have a long way to go before dominating the mobile market which still has many users preferring feature phones. However Google and Microsoft are optimistic that the smartphone competition is far from over.
VisionMobile has come up with a chart which shows how the smartphones stack up against the overall mobile usage. They predict that the current 27% from the first half of this year will increase to over 50% by next year and go on to become the majority in the market by 2013.
The graph shows Nokia's partnership with Microsoft would play a big role in the transference. If Nokia can come up with a range of smartphones for a cheap price to win over current feature phone users Windows Phone can see quite a large user base in future.
