Google has decided to discontinue it's GMail app for BlackBerry devices. Google made this announcement on their Google Apps blog page and stated that the support for the application will end on November 22.
Fortunately those who already have the application can just continue using it, but if you have not downloaded it, Google is advising you to using the web based GMail instead.
The reason behind this is sited as Google focusing on GMail's web UI, and it makes sense if you think about it. Google can focus it's attention on building one web UI to work on all mobile platforms instead of making separate applications for each service for various platforms.
This also pushes users to buy Android devices which could end up being the only platform to have dedicated Android apps.
