Apple iPhone 4S sales surpass 4 million

Apple has announced that Apple iPhone 4S sales have passed the 4 million mark by the opening weekend alone. Apple first managed to pass the 1 million mark within the first 24 hours of the iPhone 4S availability. The new iPhone was launched on Friday the 14th and has been available through Apple Stores, Carriers and select Retailers.

AT&T and Sprint reported record sales on Friday following the launch. The iPhone 4S is now also available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the U.K and will also be available in another 22 countries on October 28 and 70 more by the end of this year.
“iPhone 4S is off to a great start with more than four million sold in its first weekend—the most ever for a phone and more than double the iPhone 4 launch during its first three days,” “iPhone 4S is a hit with customers around the world, and together with iOS 5 and iCloud, is the best iPhone ever.”
-Phil Schiller
Apple has also released iCloud and iOS 5 and over 25 million users are now using the latest version of iOS with 20 million users having signed up for Apple's Cloud services. We are a little confused about the 5 million users who have updated to iOS 5 but not signed onto iCloud, not to mention the OS X Lion users who can also access iCloud services.

In any case things are looking good for Apple at the moment, but it will be interesting to see how the company takes on the coming years without Steve Jobs steering the ship.
