Apple iOS 5.0 available for download


Apple iOS5 is now available as a public download for compatible iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices. The latest version of iOS offers more than 200 new features  and improvements.

Lets take a closer look at some of the main new features of iOS 5 are :

Notification Center - Apple has finally introduced a proper notification system to iOS. Notifications for new email, texts, calendar events and more are stored in the notification center and can be accessed by swiping down from the top of the screen.


iMessage - Apple has added a messaging service to communicate between all iOS 5 devices. You can send unlimited text messages over Wi-Fi or 3G. The service is built into your Messages app and allows you to send text, photos, videos, locations and contact.



Newsstand - Similar to iBooks, you can now organised your magazine and newspapers in the Newsstand app. You can browse through and download subscriptions from the AppStore and the latest edition will be available automatically when it is released.



Reminders - Apple introduces Reminders, which is an easy way to stay organized, You can set up to-do lists with due dates and locations. Because it is location based, you will receive the alerts if you are in a place where you need to get something done.



Twitter - With iOS 5 Twitter is integrated into iOS. Once you have signed into Twitter, you can tweet from Sarari, Photos, Camera, YouTube or Maps. Your Twitter contacts will be synced with the contacts on your device for yoru convenience.



Camera - The camera can now be accessed directly from your lock screen. Features like grid lines, pinch-to-zoom gestures, single tap focus and exposure locks have been included. You can use Volume up to quickly capture a photo and you will stay synced to all your photos from iCloud.



Photos - Features like Crop, rotate, enhance and red-eye removal has been added to the photos app allowing you to edit your photos as soon as you take them. Your photos are synced with iCloud and you can access them from your iPad or other iOS devices.



Safari - Features like Safari Reader and Reading Lists allow you to keep your webpages synced between your iOS devices and your Macs. The performance of Safari has also been improved.



PC Free - iOS devices are now PC free, you dont have to rely on iTunes for syncing and updating your devices. Your device can be activated and synced wirelessly and you can backup and restore your device on iCloud.
