Toshiba introduces affordable Encore 2 Windows tablets, starting at $199
One of the biggest obstacles for Windows tablets to grow in popularity is their price. Luckily Microsoft plans to change this by introducing a special version of Windows to its manufacturers which will in turn allow them to drastically drop the prices of their tablets. While Microsoft's Surface tablets dont come with data connectivity, the Lumia 2520 proudly runs Windows 8.1 RT with 4G LTE for ultimate mobility.
The design is typical Nokia Lumia line, with thin polycarbonate housing that will be available in red, cyan, glossy white and mate black colors, and the housing is very compact at 267 x 168 x 8.9 mm with 615g of weight.

Microsoft removes the Windows 8.1 RT update from the Store due to startup issues
Yesterday Microsoft started rolling out the Windows 8.1 update to Windows 8 and Windows RT users through the Windows Store. However those with Windows RT devices like the Microsoft Surface RT will notice that the Windows 8.1 RT update is no longer available on the Windows Store. It turns out there is an issue affecting some consumers who upgraded their tablets. If you've already started to upgrade your tablet and have encountered issues, there is a temporary solution in place while Microsoft fixes the issue

Upcoming Windows 8.1 tablets with Intel's Bay Trail processors
Alongside the release of Windows 8.1 next week, there will also be a new lineup of tablets powered by Intel's latest Atom chip code-named Bay Trail. These tablets which will be priced between $299 and $350, include the Dell Venue 8 Pro, Toshiba Encore, and the Asus Transformer Book T100. More models are expected to ship in the coming months.

Windows 8.1 reaches RTM, general availability expected by October 17
Microsoft has reportedly completed development on the Windows 8.1 update and signed it off as (released to manufacturing) RTM. This indicates that the final version of Windows 8.1 is headed to manufacturers, so that it can be included in devices in time for the upcoming holiday seasons later this year.
The final version of Windows 8.1 is expected to be made available to users through the Windows Store on October 17, and we can expect Microsoft will continue fine tuning the platform before it reaches our computers.

Microsoft demonstrated Bing Food & Drink on Windows 8.1 during the BUILD keynote and you can try it out yourself if you download the Windows 8.1 Preview. This Modern app has been built with the amature chef in mind and allows you to store your recipes, manage your shopping list, organize your meal plans and more.

Upcoming Windows 8.1 update revealed in new images and videos
Microsoft has been working on Windows 8.1 for some time now, and its proving to be a major update to the Windows 8 platform. It brings several features and improvements based on customer feedback and its great to see that Microsoft is listening to their customers.
Additionally the update will be offered free of charge to Windows 8 users, which is great when you consider Apple charges their users for each iteration of OS X which is released every year.
