Instagram is one of the most anticipated apps for the Windows Phone platform and the #2Instawithlove campaign has been hard at work hoping to get the app released for the Windows Phone platform.
It may seem that our wishes have been granted as the Instgram for Windows Phone app is now available to download on the Windows Phone Store.
Unfortunately this isn't the Instagram you would want to see on your Windows Phone, rather a cruel April Fool’s joke from Microsoft. It may not be April Fool’s day just yet, but Microsoft has stepped in a day ahead following Google’s YouTube shutdown, Maps Treasure Mode and Google Smell pranks.
If you follow the Windows Phone Store listing for Instagram you will see all the features you would expect from an Instagram app for Windows Phone like, photo filtering, easy sharing, interaction with friends and dual camera support. Even the screenshots show that Microsoft has put a lot of effort into making it believable.
If you attempt to download the app, you will be told that you don’t have permission and if you read all the way to the bottom of the description you will be greeted with the message “And Happy April 1st 2013!..”
Good One Microsoft…
