Google Galaxy Nexus for Verizon receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update

The Google Galaxy Nexus for Verizon is finally receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean  software update. After months of vigorous testing the latest version of Android has finally been approved and is rolling out to users. This is a great example of carrier’s delaying software updates, as the Verizon version had to wait over three months to get its share of Jelly Bean.

Verizon has been working on fixing an LTE issue on the Galaxy Nexus, but delayed updates has been a common issue even for the Galaxy Nexus. The Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update took nearly five months to finally reach the device. We are glad that it hasn't been so bad this time around.
